Vertigo

Vertigo creates the illusion of movement. Normally the brain identifies you are moving by using signals from your eyes, inner ear, and receptors that sense body movement. When vestibular (inner ear) signals are affected, people feel the world moves around them even when they could be completely still. People can experience symptoms of spinning, nausea and vomiting in bad cases.

Our physiotherapists provide specialised vertigo treatment and exercises to quickly reduce vertigo and dizziness. In most cases we use a technique called the Epley’s Manoeuvre which is a series of head movements used to relieve vertigo. Vertigo treatment can vary depending on what area of the inner ear is causing the vertigo. The worst cases the patient may require further diagnosis from a GP – usually diagnosing inflammation of the inner ear.

We have seven years of practical experience treating vertigo successfully. From the many treatments we’ve administered people are usually hesitant and anxious about moving their head as it causes the symptoms. Our physiotherapy experts guide you through the treatment process one step at a time. This approach has proven to settle down symptoms quickly. We’ll then give you some after treatment instructions to manage the vertigo as it continues to improve.

"I’ve been going to Jack for many years with multiple injuries"

Jack is an intelligent Physio with superb knowledge of his work. Specific movement and stretching techniques to isolate and recover or to help improve mobility. Been going to Jack for many years with multiple injuries and I would consider him to be one of the best Physiotherapist I’ve been to.
